Ebenezer Dam

Ebenezer Dam is open to the public and any legal method of angling is permitted. Boats and other watercraft are also permitted. It is not necessary to purchase HTA permits to fish this water. Please note that you may only fish with fly and fly rod from within the club’s premises, no bait or lures permitted.

Fly fishing in Ebenezer can be very rewarding from time to time, especially in the winter months (end of May to the begining of July) as the big Trout migrate into the gullies looking for spawning beds. The waterfall from Stanford Lake, The “Gully” at the club and the Broederstroom where it enters Ebenezer below Haenrtsburg town can be very productive at these times.

The “Gully” is open to fly fishing only, no bait or lure fishing allowed. No boats bewteen the cable and the inlet to The “Gully”, float tubes and small watercraft are allowed. During the summer months, it is possible to catch Small and Largemouth Bass, Red Breast Kurper, Blue Kurper, Vlei Kurper, Carp and Barbel in Ebenezer Dam.
