Magoebaskloof is home to the Haenertsburg Trout Association (HTA) and is thought to be the oldest fly fishing club in South Africa.
The club has more than three hundred members of all ages. They benefit from a hatchery, chalets and camping sites and a large communal clubhouse on the banks of the often mist-shrouded Ebenezer dam, only a few kilometres from Haenertsburg. This picturesque village nestles at the northern foothills of the Drakensburg Mountains approximately sixty kilometres from Polokwane.
The club has fishing rights on 2 streams namely the Broederstroom and the Helpmekaar as well as 7 pristine still waters.
